LUCTONIANS teenager Cameron Tawfik says the link with Worcester Warriors is extremely beneficial.

The 19-year-old flanker is in his full first year at Mortimer Park having been part of Warriors' Achieving Academic and Sporting Excellence (AASE) scheme.

And he says he is loving life playing for the National League 2 North side.

"There a great group of lads, the coaches are wonderful and all get behind me," said Tawfik.

"I used to play in the AASE scheme with Worcester and after the season finished, I came up here.

"I trained for a bit and this is my first full season.

"It's a great standard of rugby and I'm enjoying myself.

"You're playing against ex top professionals, like Scott Hamilton who is an ex Leicester player.

"You've got to step up your time all the time."

Luctonians coach Ryan Watkins is part of the Warriors Academy and has helped with the link.

"Sometimes we've got to play around their playing schedule, so we've got to accommodate both parties, but it's a great link," he said.

"At this sort of level, it's a massive advantage for Warriors as a club and it gives some of those guys real game time at a good level.

"We've had Ben Fowles and Tom Dodd already come over this year and have played for Warrior's A League side and in the European Cup, so when those fixtures come to an end, hopefully we'll get them back."
