HEREFORD are through to the quarter-finals of the North Midlands Cup following an impressive 39-15 win at Moseley.

The Wyesiders made nine changes from their previous game, but came through a difficult test.

After Morgan Goodall exchanged penalties with his opposite number, Moseley Oak added an unconverted try.

Hereford responded well and regained the lead, with Goodall landing a penalty and converting tries from Richard Preece and Tom Ewins.

In the second half, Hereford extended their advantage through a Jamie Humphries try before Goodall converted his own score.

Moseley hit back with a converted try, but the Wyesiders had the last word when Lewis Jordan went clear to score, which Dean Powell converted.

"We stuck with our structures, dominated possession for the first 15 minutes and had a great last 20 before the interval," said Hereford coach Kieram Hallam.

"Leon Parsons was fantastic in attack and Ben Shimwell created lots of turnovers.

"In the second half we eased off and let Moseley Oak work themselves back into the game, but then dominated possession and put pressure on their defence for the last quarter.

"We created the best phases of play for the last two years ending with a great try, touched down by Lewis Jordan.”

Elsewhere, two tries from Jamie Gibbons and each from Greg Leighton, John Parker and Will Tomkins helped Bromyard beat Aston Old Edwardians 29-0 in the Midlands Junior Vase. Greyhound had a home walkover win over Kings Norton.
