WESTFIELDS coach Andy Bevan says the club's philosophy this season will be play from the back.

"If you do that, you create risks and we're well aware from that," admitted Bevan.

"It looks like we're a great attacking side, but we try and play out from the back because you draw the opposition on to us to create the space in behind them for for attacking players.

"Yes, we are disappointed with the six goals against and we will correct that.

"But it's a whole concept – we take it as a team and generally, I'm very pleased with that."

Westfields finished a disappointing 16th last season, but have made a few additions to have a much better campaign.

"In fairness to the club, they've really backed it and have backed us with what we want to do," added Bevan.

"Obviously 16th is not acceptable and we know what we're aiming for individually and we have individual and team targets.

"That is our main focus, hence why we're trying to do it with a style of play that we want to do.

"We want to be up there and give it our best shot.

"We're trying to keep possession of the ball, but we've got to have a purpose when we do have it.

"So we will be aiming towards the top end of the table and naturally, we want to get out of this league.

"That is why the club are supporting what we are doing."
