LADS Club player-manager Danny Moon has vowed to carry on and lead his side to the West Midlands (Regional) League (WMRL) Division One title after his side were denied promotion.

The Hereford side failed in their appeal to overturn a decision to refuse them entry into the Premier Division due to them not getting the necessary ground certificate in time.

But Moon has accused the league of giving them the wrong information, believing they had until September 30, rather than March 31, to get everything in place.

"We're hugely disappointed and feel let down by the West Midlands League," he said.

"We did all we could in the short term and paid out of our our money for nothing.

"The FA said we still should have doubled checked on two websites, but surely you go by what the league tell you and follow their advice?

"We have since had a meeting though and we want to go again and try and win the league."

In response, WMRL chairman Wendy Juggins said that Lads Club were told they had until March 31 to get the H Grade, which includes covered accommodation and a "pay box" with protection, with floodlights to be operational by September 30.

She added that the decision is final and binding and cannot be appealed.

On the pitch, Lads Club have added Zac Sirrell and Rory Worthing to their squad, while the majority of last season's team have stayed on.

Moon's side beat Gloucestershire side Longlevens 3-2 on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Worthing, Dan Herbert and Arron Turner.

That followed a 4-1 success over Tytherington Rocks and a 5-1 victory over a Merthyr Town Under-21 side.

This Saturday, Lads Club go to Worcester Raiders before going to Tuffley Rovers next Tuesday.
