GARNONS bounced back from their loss to Luctonians with a victory against Canon Frome & Marden in GB Liners Marches League Division One.

An excellent bowling performance from Garnons, after losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, produced the perfect response after losing to the table-toppers.

Led by the bowling of Rob Pritchard (6-36) and Richard Runciman (2-15), Garnons managed to bowl Canon Frome out for 150.

The total looked a distance when the visiting side lost three early wickets.

But, thanks to the efforts of both Ben Child with his 55, and a useful 24 from Nicko Evans, Canon Frome were able to limp towards a total they could defend.

Possible early nerves were put to rest as both Garnon’s openers, Alan Jones and James Debenham, superbly managed the opening bowlers.

Jones (39) was run out, but Debenham stayed in to make 33.

Thomas James, Lucas Hancock and Stuart Griffiths all contributed with runs above 20 to lead Garnons to a four-wicket victory.

Elsewhere, Ledbury’s woes continue at the bottom of the division after a 6-wicket loss to Abergavenny-Crickhowell.

A brilliant 94 from Greg Tew and an unbeaten 74 from Jeremy Kerrigan saw Crickhowell home.

Luctonians continued their winning ways with a simple nine-wicket victory over Goodrich; Imalka Kankanamalage finishing with figures of 4-44 off his 12 overs.

Glangrwyney picked up a three-wicket victory over Kington after captain Ryan Murphy Sharpe displayed a man-of -the match performance with 72 and 5-39.

In Division Two, there were wins for Brockhampton Thirds, Almeley and Luctonians Seconds.

Dales also picked up a convincing win against Presteigne after posting a massive 330- 3, with both Russell Palmer and Gareth Jones scoring centuries.

In Division Three, Eastnor Fourths, Ledbury Seconds, Goodrich Seconds, Strollers and Moccas all bowled out their opponents to pick up wins.

While in Division Four, Wormelow Thirds beat Glangrwyney Seconds comfortably by 10 wickets.
