COLWALL slipped back to second place in Worcestershire County League Division One following a poor batting display against Hagley.

The key to Hagley's 39-run victory was a blistering innings by Joe Lennon, who smashed eight sixes in his 36-ball 71.

Wehan Joubert finally got him out, with the South African spinner taking three wickets.

Tom Coleman also bowled well to claim three wickets as Hagley finished on 188-8 off their 50 overs.

Both Colwall openers went cheaply, with Coleman and James Abel faring little better.

Ben Wheeler looked like he might stem the tide for a while before he departed after scoring 26.

Colwall were eventually bowled out for 149.

Burghill, Tillington & Weobley are now just 13 points behind Colwall going into this Saturday's derby clash after narrowly beating Stourport-on-Severn by nine runs.

Burghill were bowled out for 134, with Owen Morgan top-scoring with 32.

But they had their bowlers to thank for winning the game, with Stourport's opening four batsmen only posting 10 runs between them.

Ryan Delo offered some respite for Stourport, scoring 25, while further down the order, Craig Siwicki, Stephen Yarsley and Matthew Delo added some useful runs.

But Burghill managed to bowl them out, with Toby Wildig (4-28) being the pick of the bowlers.

Matches at Bromyard, Wormelow and Bartestree & Lugwardine were all called off due to the pitches still being wet.

Ross-on-Wye did play, but fell to a six-wicket defeat to Barnards Green in Division Three.

Tim Dulson, batting at number seven, top scored for Ross with 64 in a team total of 192, but Barnards Green eased home with 11.7 overs remaining.

This Saturday, Ross host rivals Bartestree & Lugwardine.
