KINGTON captain Rob Stokes says on another day, his side could have beaten Luctonians.

Hamish Light was twice dropped by the Kington fielders and he went on to post a century.

"We won the toss and I thought the pitch would play a little bit worse than that, but Hamish hit through the ball nicely and there weren't too many demons in the pitch," said Stokes.

"We dropped him twice and on another day we could have bowled them out for 150.

"But it wasn't to be and he scored the majority of the runs."

Kington, who brought in Michael Green and Caleb Kent prior to the start of the season, won their opening three games of the season.

But cancellations due to the weather has disrupted their campaign and they currently lie in seventh position.

However, Stokes is confident his side can climb up the table again.

"We would like to be there in the mix and on our day we can beat anyone," he said.

"We've beaten Goodrich and Garnons and we beat all the big boys last year.

"It's halfway through the season now and we don't want to win many more if we're going to have a chance of winning the title."
