LUCTONIANS captain Ben Probert is not counting his chickens just yet that his side will win the GB Liners Marches League.

The Kingsland outfit are 23 points clear of nearest challengers Garnons, but Probert says there's a long way to go.

"It will be nice to win the league, but there's a long way to go yet and there's still a lot of good teams there or thereabouts chasing on our heels," said Probert.

"It will take some doing still, but the aim is to win it.

"There's good, competitive teams in the league and there's no easy games.

"We've got to be on the ball every game this year."

Probert was delighted with last Saturday's win against Kington.

"We played a strong Kington team with three of our players out, which in all honesty we didn't miss too much because the other players came in and stepped up and all performed well," said Probert.

"It was led in the batting front by Hamish Light, Duncan Platford and Matt Bengry to post a competitive 237 score and then we bowled Kington out for 169.

"We always knew it would be a tough match and it proved that way, so we're pleased."
