HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle says he is not panicking as he awaits to hear whether two key players from last season's squad will re-sign for the club.

Ryan Green and Aaron Birch have yet to make a decision as to whether to stay at Edgar Street, but Beadle is not worried.

"I'm in constant contact with them and hopefully there will be a bit of news by the end of the week," said Beadle.

"I'm not panicking though and nor are they.

"They've all been away at certain times and there's no rush.

"We were a bit behind because our season got extended by three weeks, so I gave the lads time to go away and have some time away from football.

"Then two weeks ago, I started the process of speaking to the players and so far, we are not far off from where I want us to be.

"We are in a good place and have made some great signings, so we are ok at the moment.

"The only two players who haven't agreed to come back who I wanted to keep are Harvey [Rivers] and James Pilling."

The newest recruit to Edgar Street is goalkeeper Alex Harris, who has joined Hereford from Cinderford Town.

The 24-year-old, who made 24 clean sheets for the Southern Football League Division One South & West champions last season, comes into the group after Rivers decided to leave the Bulls in pursuit of regular first team football.

Harris is the third new addition to Hereford following the signings of Jamie Edge and Jamie Cuss.

"Harvey didn't want to run the risk of not starting this year," explained Beadle.

"All players want to play every week and I couldn't guarantee that.

"Alex is extremely excited to come on board.

"He is very confident, is a big boy and made 24 clean sheets last season, which I think is a Southern League record.

"He is used to being the number one, so it gives me fantastic competition for places."

Beadle added that he probably won't be having a goalkeeper on the bench for the majority of games next season.

"Keepers are specialised and whoever is not playing will probably go play somewhere else so, if the other ones gets injured or suspended, he will be sharp enough to come back and play for us.

"What I have got are two quality keepers and they will fight it out for the number one jersey."

Including United in the Community players, Beadle has so far a squad of 17 for next season.

The latest players to commit themselves to the club is Australian right-back Jimmy Oates and centre-half Nathan Summers.

"Jimmy went out of the country straight after the Wembley final and has been travelling around Europe with his partner," said Beadle.

"He really blossomed last season and I'm happy he has signed on, like I am with all the players."

Off the field, commercial manager Chris Ammonds has decided to leave the club and dedicate his time to his public relations firm.

However, he will still offer advice to the Bulls in a consultancy basis.
