Martin Horsell - 4

The Hereford keeper was at fault for Morpeth's equaliser and had little chance with the other three. He did make some fine saves in the second half but misjudging the corner just before the interval proved crucial.

Jimmy Oates - 7

The right back was Hereford's best player. Strong in the tackle and looked to get forward at every opportunity.

Ryan Green - 6

Started the game strongly, winning headers and keeping possession. Felt the full force of two very heavy challenges but gaps opened up in the second half as Hereford's defence was left exposed.

Jamie Willets - 6

Struggled after the break as Morpeth's strikers found more space and was forced to hit too many long hopeful balls.

Joel Edwards - 6

Gave absolutely everything but was put under increasing pressure as Morpeth's wingers created opportunities down the right wing.

Sirdic Grant - 5

Hit the crossbar in an explosive half hour but barely touched the ball in the second half as Morpeth dropped deep to counter his pace.

Aaron Birch - 5

Did not see as much of the ball as he would have liked as Hereford's defence bypassed the midfield with too many long balls to Symons.

Rob Purdie - 6

A dream start scoring a stunning 25-yarder to give the Bulls the lead. But faded in the second period - as did many of his team-mates.

Joe Tumelty - 6

Provided Purdie with the pass for the goal and looked lively before being replaced early after the interval.

Pablo Haysham - 5

An awful miss early in the first half seemed to knock his confidence. Got on the ball more late in the second half when he was moved into midfield but, by then, it was too little, too late.

Mike Symons - 5

Burst down the wing in the first half to set up Haysham's glorious chance but struggled to link up with colleagues and the arguments about choosing him instead of Mills will remain.

Subs

Mustapha Bundu - 6

Always tried to make things happen when he came on and forced a number of corners with his trickery and pace. Again, many will wonder why he did not start.

John Mills - 5

Had one chance to score when he first came on but failed to connect with Bundu's pass. Otherwise, he was crowded out as Morpeth brought more and more men back to defend.
