HEREFORDSHIRE will be taking part in the Under-16 Midland Counties Schools Football League Final in Leicestershire tomorrow.

Colin Preece's side will face Humberside at Brooksbury Community College after beating Lincolnshire 4-0 at Leominster Town.

That game started at a frantic pace and both sides were quick to close down their opposition.

After 20 minutes, Herefordshire were awarded a free kick just outside the box.

Josh Peace (Wigmore) hit a superb ball to the far post and Harry Franklin (Bishops) towered above the defence to score with a fine header.

This inspired the home team and some slick passing resulted in Greg Preece (Kingstone) making an intelligent run and finishing with a superb shot which gave the visiting goalkeeper no chance. The home side were now well on top and they scored another well taken goal by George Hayes (John Kyrle) to give the home team a commanding 3-0 half-time lead.

Herefordshire had to defend well to prevent Lincolnshire from scoring at the start of the second half and goalkeeper George Tindale made a vital save.

The home side always looked dangerous on the break and halfway through the second half prolific goal scorer James Hancocks (Bishops) finished clinically to kill off any hopes of a Lincolnshire come-back.
