HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle says it's important that every club has a relationship with their supporters after hundreds of Bulls fans celebrated wildly with the players on Monday night.

Beadle's men are the Midland Football League Premier Division champions following a 4-0 win at Coventry Sphinx.

"When I was at Bristol Rovers and went there as a Londoner, one of the things I noticed was how close the supporters were with the players in the fact that they shared a bar and had that rapport between them," said Beadle.

"I think the supporters have seen that every single player who has put on a shirt this year has worn it with pride and they have always put their heart and soul into the game.

"I couldn't have asked any more from them this year.

"Under huge amount of pressure and expectation and unrivalled competition, to know that we now can't be caught is a huge achievement for the players.

"In an ideal world, it would have been nice to have seen far more people here to join us when we finally clinched it, but I'm sure there'll be plenty there on Thursday to see us clinch the trophy."

Captain Joel Edwards has missed some recent Hereford games, but led some of the chants among the away following.

"It was an unforgettable experience, we got the victory and are champions.

"I've loved it [being a fan], I rather be out there, but it's definitely second best.

"In the Meadow End on Saturday was amazing and in the stand [at Coventry] was brilliant.

"I got a few chants going and I just love being part of it."

Many people tipped Hereford to win the league before a ball had even been kicked and the Bulls made a slow start to the campaign.

"At the start, we felt it a bit, which showed with our first few results, but we got used to the pressure and our performances started going well," added Edwards.

"Last season, I picked up 14 yellows and three reds I think, so I had to be more disciplined and mature and be a leader.

"I just absolutely loved it."

Monday night's win was sealed with a first goal of the season for Sirdic Grant, to the delight of the Bulls players and management team.

"He's huffed and puffed for the last couple of games with a few chances, but it showed how much it meant the players when he scored that every single player went to him and celebrated," said Beadle.

"I think in the last eight or nine games, he's been fantastic for us.

"He's given us some impetus and a bit of a spark that may be we needed and we're just delighted that he's got that goal and it rounded off another good performance."
