A MAN who helped set up a Hereford FC Disabled Bulls group says he wants to attract more fans to Edgar Street.

Tom Emmett has had spina bifida and hydrocephalus all of his life, meaning the 27-year-old is wheelchair-bound.

But the die-hard Bulls fan, who volunteers at the club, is able to have a grandstand view of any match thanks to a refurbished disabled area near Radford's bar.

"As long as they have got a disability, then they are more than welcome to watch matches with us," said Emmett.

"Even if they just struggle to walk, they can be catered for.

"There are about 10 or 11 of us in there, but the maximum amount of people that can fit in there is between 18 and 20.

"The area is now more up to date and you can see the whole of the.

The area is sponsored by insulation company Kingspan and Hereford chairman Jon Hale said it was imperative the area needed to be brought up to date.

"It was very evident to us when we first took the keys that the old facilities for wheelchair users were totally inadequate, in fact dangerous," said Hale.

"We were extremely grateful to Kingspan for coming forward with a generous sponsorship offer to allow us to get the facility open as soon as possible.

"It is hugely important to provide facilities for all of our fans, in a safe and clean environment.

For those unfortunate enough to be wheelchair bound, the very least we could do was provide a stand where they can watch a game of football in the dry and at a level where they can see the action.

"We are an all inclusive club, with all supporters made to feel welcome, whatever part of the ground they frequent.

"The work Tom is doing to encourage more Hereford FC supporters to come forward and watch games at Edgar Street is really appreciated by the board of directors."
