BROMYARD Town manager Nick Smith is confident his side will stay in West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division after signing four new players.

Goalkeeper Aaron Tomlinson, centre-back Lee Barmby, central midfielder Jack Green and striker Lewis Baker have all joined the Delahay Meadow side, while another goalkeeper is also due to pen a deal.

Brad Birch, who hooked up with Bromyard after leaving Westfields earlier this season, has also scored 12 goals in his last six games, while centre-back Danny Colbourn is also like a new signing after being unable to play for the club due to work commitments.

Bromyard are third from bottom in the division but comfortably beat basement club Tipton Town last Saturday, ensuring they claimed back-to-back clean sheets.

It was Bromyard's first game in seven-and-a-half weeks.

"We've got a good, in-depth side now and some quality players, so we should be ok," said Smith.

"We needed to being in a few players and the break allowed me to do that.

"We haven't played the second-from-bottom team yet [Wellington Amateurs], so we may only need to win another five games.

"I'm sure we'll stay up."

Birch grabbed all three goals against Tipton – his third hat-trick for Bromyard.

Pegasus Juniors also had a day to remember after stunning promotion hopefuls AFC Bridgnorth at Old School Lane.

All of the goals were scored in the first half, with Ben Price grabbing two of them.

The other goal was netted by former Westfields player Jake Robinson.

"Bridgnorth are going for promotion, so it was a good win," said Pegasus manager James Edmonds.

"It was a good team performance and good goals in one-on-one situations.

"It was very pleasing to watch."

Edmonds' side finished ninth last season and the manager his hopeful they can better that this campaign.

"We are still a young side that are developing, but the aim is to finish higher than where we finished last season," said Edmonds.

"If we do that, then great, but if not, we try again."
