DEFENDER Dean Corbett believes Lads Club have a great chance of getting to the final of the HFA County Challenge Cup.

The Hereford-based side will entertain Westfields in the semi-finals if they can bypass Leominster Town.

That quarter-final tie was postponed last week due to Leominster’s pitch being waterlogged.

“Quite a few mates of mine play over there [at Westfields] and we’re looking forward to that,” said Corbett.

“We’ve then got the incentive of playing at Edgar Street at the end.

“We’ve got a good draw at home to Westfields, which is better than going to Edgar Street against Hereford with the play they’re flying, so we’ve got a chance.”

Corbett is also looking forward to facing Bartestree this Saturday, a club whom he played for last season.

“It’s a big game, they’ve started to pick up some points and a few of us played there last year, but I think we should have enough to overcome them,” said Corbett.

“We’ve done well and keep strengthening each week.

“We’ve brought in Carl Morgan and a few others, so it’s just a case of getting everyone clicking.”

Lads Club go into the game on the back of an excellent 2-0 win against AFC Ludlow.

"I didn't know what to expect from them, but it was comfortable in the end," said Corbett.

“It took about 10 minutes to get into it, but after that, we probably could have had three or four more.
