HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle says he is not surprised that lethal marksman John Mills has scored as many goals as he has.

Mills has netted an incredible 19 goals for the Bulls in just 12 games, which include four hat-tricks.

His latest treble came at Walsall Wood on Tuesday night that helped his team to a 6-0 win.

Hereford are now one point clear at the top of the Midland Football League Premier Division table and face third-placed Long Eaton United at Edgar Street in their next league game on October 10.

"To get 19 goals in 12 games in a short amount of time is a credit to him," said Beadle.

"Four hat-tricks is pretty phenomenal but I'm not surprised because he is a quality finisher and if you give him chances, he will score goals.

"John is being talked about a lot because of the goals he is getting, but Pablo [Haysham[ has been exceptional in the last four or five games and the wide players have been brilliant with their assists and goals they have been getting."

Central midfielders Aaron Birch and Dylan Bonella have also scored this week, while the Bulls have also kept two clean sheets in a row for the first time this season.

"I'm pleased for them [Birch and Bonella] because they make us tick and it's nice fort their confidence that they have both scored," added Beadle.

"We conceded too many goals early on but it's vitally important to keep clean sheets because it's already points on the board and we've got players who can score goals."

Mills opened the scoring in the 36th minute against Walsall Wood before Adam Page doubled the lead shortly before half-time.

Mills then grabbed his second goal of the night after 59 minutes, with Bonella getting on the scoresheet three minutes later.

The prolific Mills completed his hat-trick 10 minutes from time before Birch's shot was deflected in by Walsall Wood goalkeeper Lee Evans after it came off a post.

Hereford went into the game on the back of a 3-0 win at Boldmere St Michaels, with Mills (2) and Birch being the scorers.

Next up for the Bulls is a trip to Bardon Hill in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase.

Beadle says he will field his strongest possible side, with a trip to Wembley being the prize for the finalists.

"It's a competition that has a huge carrot at the end of it," said Beadle.

"To walk out at Wembley is any manager or player's dream

"I will put out my strongest possible team that will try and win us the game."
