BURGHILL & Valley Golf Club's Joe Bonelle came top of an Under-14 stableford competition organised by Shropshire & Herefordshire Union of Golf Clubs.

Bonelle finished on 45 points to pip Kington's Sam Jones at the event at Arscott Golf Club.

Ross' A team were crowned champions thanks to a fine team performance from Niall Powell and Cam Haines, who contributed 38 points each.

At the other end of the spectrum, the club's annual Seniors Championship saw 88 members take part.

The celebrations were put on hold though because Hugh Elliott and Doug Duncanson will have to settle matters on another day after both impressing with gross 79 medal scores.
