MID Wales bowlers had mixed fortunes at the Welsh Bowling Association national championships in Llandrindod.
The Presteigne triple of David and Rob Weale and Dale Gorman retained their title with six-shot win over a strong team from Gilfach Bargoed in the final.
Rob Weale met fellow Welsh international skip Jonathan Tomlinson in the singles final, and in a match played in difficult conditions, the man from Monmouthshire ran out the winner by 21 shots to 16.
Ken Price of Llandrindod was looking to win the senior singles for the seventh time.
In the semi-final he staged a dramatic comeback to win the game having been behind by 15 shots to 4, but the final proved equally difficult and he was beaten 21-16 by Paul Jones of Ferndale.
