PRESTEIGNE'S Franky Reid-Warrilow has made an impressive start to her eventing season.

Partnering her top horse Dolley Whisper, who she won the autumn international two-star class with, Reid-Warrilow carried on her great form to Somerley Park Horse trials in Hampshire.

Again contending an international two star class, the duo led from start to finish.

A personal best in the dressage, topped with an easy double clear, meant they were left comfortably in the lead to win by over five points.

"I felt that it was well within her comfort zone and we were on cruise control all day," said Reid-Warrilow.

"It was the best round I've ever had, she was as smooth as silk."

Reid-Warrilow has been training with current Olympic, World and European dressage champion Charlotte Dujardin and eventing legend Mark Todd.

"I have been working with Charlotte for a couple of years now and it's really paying off," said Reid-Warrilow.

"Consistency is the key and I think that is now showing through in my scores.

"As for Mark, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have been at the event.

"I was apprehensive about running because I thought the ground would be too wet but when he texted me at 7am saying it was perfect, I packed up the lorry and left."

Reid-Warrilow's next aim is to head the home produced mare to three key events at advanced three star leve: Belton, Chatsworth and a full three-day event at Saumur in France.

A debut at the sport's highest four star tier could then come calling in the autumn by returning to French turf and contending the county's premier event - Etoiles de Pau.

Reid-Warrilow is also building up an impressive base at her family's home, including renowned stallion Jaguar Mail.
