LEFT-back Jim Dunn stepped in goal and put in a man of the match display to ensure Leominster secured a 4-3 win against Lydney in Davis Wood Hockey League Conference North.

Dunn had to put on the pads due to regular goalkeeper and captain Matt Styles being unavailable.

Leominster hit a post within the first minute through Rob Goodman but took the lead from a Harry Ellis penalty stroke after Goodman was brought down by the Lydney goalkeeper.

Lydney equalised just before half-time, but Leominster regained the lead after the break from a well worked short corner.

Ellis found Goodman in space to deflect the ball home.

Lydney again pressed high and equalised again, despite some good defensive work from Leominster.

Ellis restored Leominster's lead, but Lydney again hit back.

But it was Leominster who had the final word when Goodman grabbed the winner after Jack Rowsell pulled the ball back.

Dunn then pulled off a stunning double block as Lydney searched for another leveller.
