CHRIS Albert, manager of Orleton Colts Reserves, said he prepared for the game as he would any other one despite the turmoil surrounding Ledbury.

“They have been going for years and have always had a really good set of footballers,” said Albert.

“It is unfortunate that is has got to this stage.

“But we prepared in the same way because Ledbury were on a 10-game unbeaten run.

“We beat them 6-2 earlier in the season but I thought they would be a lot stronger this time.”

Orleton are fourth in Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League Division Three and Albert said the aim is promotion..

“We missed promotion by a point last season, so hopefully we will go one better this season," he said.

Albert reserved praise for his defence and goalkeeper Rory Arnold for ensuring they progressed to the last four of the FW Petersen Cup, where they will face Leominster Town Reserves.

“We dug in and got the result, it was a great effort from the lads and was probably our best defensive display all season,” said Albert.
