Stockport 11 pts Luctonians 34

LUCTONIANS' second successive win has moved the north Herefordshire club into a comfortable mid-table position in National Two North.

And another five-try display earned the Mortimer Park team their eighth bonus point of the season, the best haul in the division.

"The seven points that we had before has put us up into the middle of the table and helped us to leap-frog the likes of Stourbridge," said director of rugby Alex Davidson.

"Our set-piece faltered in the first half but we worked on that in the second half and now we have some game-changers among our replacements, the likes of Ashley Horner, Costa Dima and Alex Rumsey."

Luctonians led at half-time thanks to a try from Alex Smith following good work by Jimmy Norris.

But winless Stockport, despite their lowly position in the table, remained in contention and took the lead 11 minutes into the second period with a try from Jamie Anthony.

This, however, provided the spur that Luctonians needed and Horner, Dima, Will Burton and Dan Smith all went over for scores.

Geraint Langdon, who had earlier converted Alex Smith's try, was successful with two further conversions and a penalty to ensure a comfortable success.

On Saturday, Luctonians face a stern test when leaders Ampthill are the visitors to Mortimer Park.

But Davidson's men have received some good news with Anthony Marfell given the all-clear to resume playing after sustaining a fractured eye-socket earlier in the season.
