FIFTY-two young golfers took part in the Ross GC annual juniors open at the club's Gorsley-based course.

Sixteen-year-old Max Coleman was the best nett performer on the day and his impressive nett 67 medal round which included three birdies means that Max will now be a 12 handicapper in future.

Fifteen-year-old Sophie Price has enjoyed a marvellous yearwith her season culminating in being presented with the prestigious Brian Huggett Trophy at the club's annual prize-giving evening. Her nett 69 medal round in the Juniors open claimed the nett runners-up prize.

Another Ross Juniors Academy player, 15-year-old Brad Knapper was also able score well in a fine round of 69 nett to top the score-sheet for handicap division 1 players.

Ted Williams,13, shot a nett 72 to top Handicap Division 3 in a year when he was the best nett performer in the Ross Men's Open in June, and also winner of the AD Evans Juniors Cup.

The best gross performer on the day with a round of 73 was scratch handicap player Harrison Ottley-Woodd of Cotswold Hills Golf Club in Cheltenham.
