STRIKER Marcus Palmer has suggested he would not be opposed to staying at Westfields beyond the end of his one month loan deal.

The former Hereford United striker is three games into his spell at Allpay.Park and has scored two goals in three games.

He said: “Sharpness and fitness is getting there now, the fitter I get the more goals I’ll score but I’m delighted to be here.”

Palmer is on loan from Evesham but hasn’t played a game for the Worcester based side.

“I tore my hamstring in pre-season so haven’t played a game and I’ve been in contact with Sean (Edwards) for a few years now, said Palmer who also played for Forest Green.

“I thought I’d come down here, get some games and start enjoying my football.”

The striker had two years at Edgar Street when they were in the football league and he used to come up against Westfields in the HFA senior Cup.

He said: “I think I scored a hat-trick against them the last time I played here and I think that’s how Sean knew about me.”

Westfield’s manager Sean Edwards said: “He needs games and he needs fitness and you never know he might come here, enjoy it and want to stay.”
