ROSS Golf Club's Neil Lancett can look back at his summer season with satisfaction having captained two teams who enjoyed success in both the league and cups.

As skipper of the club's 'A' team squad playing in North Gloucestershire League Division Three, Lancett, with the support of team coach and head professional Tim Hall, helped his side finish top of the league.

Lancett also saw his squad finish runners-up in North Gloucestershire County Presidents Cup.

The team beat Lansdown GC 3&2 in the semi-final, but were outplayed by Tewkesbury GC in the final.

Meanwhile, Ross GC's Matthew Hillier was named most improved player of the year, Dale Gribble won the Cinderford Cup with club secretary Ian Griffiths, Joe Irvine secured the Yates Cup and 2013 club champion James Morgan scooped the Mike Lane Trophy.
