LEOMINSTER secured their second league victory of the season with a fine away win at Devizes in the Davis Wood Hockey League Conference North.

The visitors were on the back foot from the off and had to withstand some early pressure, relying on the counter-attack.

But having seen off the initial threat, Leominster worked their way into the game and took the lead through a short corner with Jon Davis setting up Josh Watkins to score.

In the second half there were more chances for both sides, with the Devizes goalkeeper lucky to stay on following a challenge on Harry Ellis, which resulted in a penalty, although Nick Duggan's effort was saved.

But the visitors did eventually extend their lead when Ellis fed Watkins to score his and his team's second.

Devizes scored a consolation goal late on but Leominster held out for a 2-1 win.

Meanwhile, a thumping win for Hereford at Cardiff Medics was just what the doctor ordered.

Stew Goodarzi got the ball rolling on 15 minutes when he gave Hereford the lead before Colin Amos added a second with a short corner strike.

The Medics created chances but found Hereford goalkeeper Jim Wallis, and the defensive line of Kyle Drew, Will Steel and Giles Stokes, in fine form.

Hamish Cameron scores Hereford's third in the second half, before the Medics pulled one back.

Goodarzi then scored a second before Will Stevens made it 5-1 just before the end.

In the Women's Severn Division 1, Hereford 2nd climbed off the bottom of the league with a point at Lansdown 2nd.

Hereford captain Sue Moody ran through to put Hereford ahead just before half time.

After the break, the visitors continued to be on top but conceded a sloppy goal against the run of play.

Right on the final whistle, Moody thought she had won it but her effort was disallowed by the umpire.
