THE NEW management team at Bromyard Town have made sweeping changes to the playing staff in an effort to get them promoted.

The team were relegated last season from the West Midlands League Premier Division and 22 players have been brought in this year by manager Martin Stephens.

Assistant manager Nick Smith said: “We’ve come in a brought a complete new squad here which we’re looking to go up with.

“Hopefully we can be in the top two and hopefully we can return to the Prem.”

The club have invested heavily in the playing staff with a whole new squad being brought in and Nick Smith doesn’t think the spending has finished.

“The club have given us more money than it would usually be giving us to support the lads in paying so we’ll try and stick as a unit and work hard through the season”, he said.

He went on to say that promotion this year is just part of a three year plan which could culminate in getting the club into the Midland Football League.

He said: “Hopefully we can go up next year and then the club are going to back us again and we’re going to bring in better players next year to improve the side a bit more.

“We are set up for the Midland Football League and that is our aim.

“If we can go up this year, it means we can bring in the players we want who don’t want to play at this level and then we are looking to go into the Midland League.”
