MORE ground improvements could be on the way at the County Ground on the back of the new changing rooms being opened in a month’s time.

Lads Club player-manager Danny Moon believes that once the changing rooms are open it will be a good facility for all the girls' and boys' teams they have.

“The changing rooms are coming along now, they’ll be open in a month and there’s a big development which is in the pipeline," he said.

“It’s something for the girls and boys football so they can change in separate changing rooms.

“We’ve got 24 teams here and the current changing rooms are not good enough.”

Despite the planned improvements, Moon does not believe the club are ready for the jump into the West Midlands League Premier Division despite being fifth in Division One at the moment.

“We aimed, at the start of the season, to be in the top three but promotion is not an aim at the moment because it’s a commitment of an extra 15 games a season," he said.

He also suggested that if the city side were to get promoted, the club would need to have floodlights fitted for midweek games.

He said: “If promotion came along then we would have to look at it but, at the end of the day, it’s a lot of money and you’ve got to be ready as a club.”
