GARNONS have retained the GB Liners Marches League title after a conclusive 108-run win over relegation-threatened Dales.

Skipper James Debenham (74 not out) and Duane Evans (70) led the way as Garnons compiled 218-6 from their 45 overs.

Experienced seamers Alan Jones (3-11) and Rob Pritchard (3-21) then controlled the Dales reply as the home side were bowled out for 110.

The battle for second place is still very much alive with three teams in contention.

Luctonians, however, have placed themselves in pole position to clinch the spot after a three-wicket win over rivals Goodrich.

The south Herefordshire side batted first and put together 132, with Rory Jackson top-scoring with 40 as Chris Burke (3-9) and Pete Griffiths (3-41) shared six of the wickets.

Griffiths (29 not out) and Ben Probert (29 not out) led a revival after Mark Bradford (3-14) took early wickets to ensure Luctonians' victory.

Crickhowell also retain a keen interest in the race for second place after an eight-wicket success against Builth Wells.

Anthony Jawahir (4-15) played a key part as Builth were bowled out for 85 and followed up with an unbeaten 36 as Crickhowell cruised to victory.
