ROB Purdie is hoping for a bumper crowd at Malvern on Sunday as he takes charge of the Hereford United Supporters Team against a Worcester City XI.

Purdie will be assisted for Joel Edwards for the game at Langland Stadium that kicks off at 2pm.

This is the the supporters' team's second game, with a number of Bulls legends agreeing to play.

These include 'Wing Commander' Peter Heritage, John Snape, Tony James, Alex Jeannin, David Titterton, Scott Goodwin and Matt Clarke.

Record Conference goalscorer Steve Guinan is also set to lace his boots after he returns from holiday, with Callum Brennan, who starred for United's youth team last season, adding to the mix.

However, former Bulls goalkeeper Wayne Brown has pulled out due to work commitments.

"I believe I am player-manager for the game and Joel Edwards will be assisting me," said Purdie.

"Everyone wants the best for Hereford United because the last few months have been tough for any fan and I am one of those fans.

"Hereford United Supporters Trust is trying to make sure that there is a sustainable Hereford United if everything goes wrong.

"Everyone has to be behind that."

Purdie this week joined Tamworth on a season long deal and played for the Lambs in a friendly match against Brereton Social on Tuesday.

However, he said that he hopes to play some part in the game on Sunday.

"I will probably come on for a bit and bring on a couple of my mates," said Purdie.

"It could be a really good crowd, which will put the trust in a good position if they try to take control of the club."

Purdie, who is head coach of the Hereford United in the Community Trust, said that he is been paid all of his outstanding wages from Hereford.

However, he is still awaiting on more money that was set in his contract.

"I do not know how I am going to go about it because the Southern League have accepted them with no punishment," said Purdie.

"I know some players have been paid all of their wages, others have been paid some, whereas one player says he hasn't had a penny.

"Some players have also had their £500 bonus for staying up, but some haven't.

"I will try and speak to Andy Lonsdale, along with Luke Graham, and mediate between the players.

"It is a little bit disappointing that not all of the football creditors have been paid and the punishment set out by the Southern League hasn't really been implemented."
