THE withdrawal of sponsors led to ‘broken promises’ over the past month being made to Hereford United’s football creditors, claims advisor Joel Nathan.

Not all of Hereford United’s football creditors have been paid in full.

“The whole idea was not to go into a CVA,” said Nathan.

“We are in negotiations with a major blue chip company.

“Tommy Agombar will go to every game and people will understand that he didn’t create the debt and he will go down as the man who saved the club.

“It’s Tommy’s money with investment and, unfortunately, sponsors were put off and that’s what has led to broken promises to pay football creditors.”

Nathan also spoke about last season at United.

“We could have put £350,000 into a bond and ended up in a relegation battle.

“Last year, was it a successful season? They stayed up going into the last game of the season. You talk about people being hailed as heroes.

“It wasn’t a case of getting a Conference team that was up there. You had a team which barely stayed in the division.

“No-one put £10 back into the club. You get to a stage like Chester and they can’t afford to fill the team coach with petrol.

“You were one league away from the Football League and behaving like a pub team. You can’t do that.”
