THE annual Herefordshire and Worcestershire Sports Awards is seeking nominations for the top sporting talent from the two counties.

The Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire’s event, now in its 15th year, recognises the sporting achievements and celebrates good practice within the local sporting community.

The Partnership has opened registration for nominations and is urging people to put forward candidates who they feel deserve recognition for their sporting achievement and dedication to sport within their community.

Stephen Brewster, director of the Sports Partnership, said: "This event is our chance to honour our local sports men and women, coaches, volunteers, clubs and officials.

"For the past 15 years, we’ve received such huge support for the awards and feel it’s important the local community get their say on who’s made an impact on sport, young people and local communities.

"Recognising sporting achievements and celebrating good practice within the sporting community is at the very heart of what we do and we will be championing the hard work and talent that exists within Herefordshire and Worcestershire. As such, we are thrilled to announce nominations for this year’s awards open today and look forward to receiving and welcoming nominations in all 13 categories for our local sporting heroes."
