HEREFORD Wheelers first evening time trial of the season produced winners for the city-based NFTO team in both the men's and the women's race.

The annual Road Bike 10 mile event, solely for unmodified bikes, at Allensmore attracted an impressive field of 60 riders despite wet conditions.

Sam Harrison led the men's field home in 22 minutes 37 second with Annasley Park winning the women's race in 26:38.

John Wood (NFTO) was second in the men’s race in 23:41 with Luke Moseley of Climb on Bikes finishing third in 24:42.

Kathryn King of NFTO was second in the women’s race in 27:14 with the host club's Sarah Lloyd Stephens third in 27:19.

Sixteen-year-old Ceri Middleton again produced an excellent performance to finish 13th in 26:20.

On Sunday, 10 teams entered the three-man team time trial over a challenging 35mile route with the trio of Luke Moseley, Ed Moseley and Ben Dale just winning a close race with a time of one hour 28 minutes 26 seconds .

Simon Ward, James Griffiths and Phil Mason, who finished in 1:28:56, claimed second spot while the Ludlow CC team of William Coley, Dan Cutting and Clancy Wilson were third in 1:33:22.

Tonight (Thursday) sees the first of Hereford Wheelers series of 10-mile Time Trials at Allensmore with signing on from 5.30pm and the race starting at 6.15pm.
