MARDEN will be playing their home games at Herefordshire Cricket Ltd's Pentland Gardens headquarters this season

The villagers needed to find a new place to play after being asked to leave their previous home at the Volunteer pub, their base for the last 29 years

"We have had fantastic support from Herefordshire Cricket and the GB Liners Marches League," said Marden club captain Sam Pratley.

"The club will have to play a few Sunday fixtures and possibly one or games at Hereford Cathedral School's Wyeside ground in order for Herefordshire Cricket and Bulmers Bowling Club to honour existing fixtures.

"We hope that the move to the city centre will be a boost to playing resources at the club."

With an ageing first-team squad, Marden are looking for new recruits.

"We would really welcome new players to join," said Pratley. "We have a number of very relaxed midweek T20 fixtures for those unable to commit to weekend cricket but fancy having a bit of a go."

Contact Pratley on 07786075294, by emailing sampratley@hotmail.com or attend their Sunday morning nets at the Hereford Academy at 10.30am.

Leominster-based Dales are also looking for new players for the coming season.
