ALICE Hurley, from Hoarwithy, and the Spanish bred Stallion Deseado CCV claimed the COPA Medal at the Barcelona Dressage Spring Tour.
The combination entered the Clasica 1 and 2 classes for seven-year-olds and came out on top after two weeks of stiff competition.
Alice and Des, owned by Karen Bourden, were among the 11 British riders and their 17 horses that crossed the waters for the start of the international dressage season in Spain.
After the British Dressage Championships at Hartpury in April, Alice and Des will head for Madrid, then to Seville later in the year for the Copa Final.
While in Spain, Alice was trained by Victor Alvarez Diez, one of Spain’s top dressage riders and trainers.
