SUPPORTER KD Rai has gone without sleep for two nights – after launching a Twitter frenzy to highlight Hereford United’s financial woes.

The 19-year-old from Much Cowarne has been campaigning to get United’s troubles noticed nationally.

He was featured on Central News last Friday and was a guest in United’s boardroom for last weekend’s match against Grimsby Town.

“I have been supporting Hereford United for 10 years,” said KD, who has set up the Hereford United Student Supporters Association online group.

“Hereford’s play-off win over Morecambe was my first game. I hated football before my uncle, Jay Rai, took me that match. But Saturday's game was one of my best days of my life and I achieved my dream of walking on the pitch.

"Your club chooses you – you don’t choose them. I have fire in my belly and I did not sleep for two nights because I was tweeting to raise Hereford’s profile.”

KD is a first year politics and international relations student at the University of Warwick.

“I should have been revising for my exams, but I couldn’t keep my mind off the football club,” admitted the former Hereford Cathedral School pupil.

“I have been targeting journalists, players in the Premier League, Championship and Football League and, in three days, I sent around 900 messages. I have cracked the screen on my Iphone.”

The former Malvern College student added: “I have been asked to work with the Community Trust. Nick Nenadich and Bob Pritchard would like a new perspective and I would like to do it voluntarily.”
