ALAST-GASP strike from Erica Rogers fired Hereford Ladies to an exciting 4-3 home win over Redland in the West Clubs Women’s League Premier Division 2.

Two-goal Rogers scored with a drag-flick, from a penalty corner, in the last play of the match to give Jess Lambert’s side their second win of the campaign.

Jenny Preston and Claire Pritchard also hit the target for Hereford, who are missing striker Emily Tompkins this season after her move to higher-graded Gloucester.

Charlie Morris scored four goals in Presteigne’s thumping 9-1 win over Whitchurch Saints 3rd at Llandrindod Wells.

Rita Tomkins (2), Pru Napolitano, Jess Goodwin and Jody Owen-Evans were on target for table-topping Presteigne in the South Wales League Division 3.

Despite a goal from Morris, Presteigne crashed out of the Welsh Shield after a 2-1 secondround defeat at Swansea Bay on Sunday. Swansea won the tie in extra-time.

Hereford had Charlie Jones dismissed as they surrendered a two-goal advantage in a 2-2 draw at Old Bristolians in the Davis Wood Men’s Hockey League Premier Division 3.

Andy Rogers almost hit a late winner for Hereford but his effort, from Mike Broady’s pass, struck a post.

Rogers fired Hereford ahead and then Colin Amos baged his first of the season. However, Hereford lost their discipline after the break.

After Jones was sent-off for a reckless challenge, the hosts scored twice and only fine saves from Jim Wallis kept Hereford in the match.

Abrace from Rob Goodman led Leominster to a 5-3 victory at Stroud in North 1.

Jim Dunn, Josh Watkins and Jack Rowsell also scored for Leominster, who produced a strong display and led 3-1 at the break.

Tom Walton’s hat-trick fired Ross-on-Wye to a convincing 6-0 home victory over Newent 2nd in Herefords&Glos Division 1.

Adrian Williams (2) and Kristian Franklin also found the net for Ross, who were inspired by debutant George Goldsmith. Jamie Caulfield and David Skyrme also impressed for the hosts.

Hereford 3rd stretched their winning run to six matches with a 5-0 home success over Stroud 3rd in Hereford &Glos Division 2.

Tim Miller (2), Ben Thomas, Monty Rudge and Alex Miller bagged the goals for Hereford
