A GOAL from Frankie Bishop was little reward for Kington who missed a glut of chances in a 4-1 defeat at Whitchurch in the South Wales League Division 1.
Player-of-the-match Beth Watson made some outstanding runs for Kington and there were solid displays from Emma Turner and Hannah Milde.
But Kington lacked composure in front of goal and were made to pay when Whitchurch scored from all four of their on-target strikes.
A hat-trick from Jess Goodwin led Presteigne to a hard-fought 4-3 win over Gwenafed at Llandrindod in the South Wales League.
Rita Tomkins also found the net for Presteigne, who led 3-0 at the interval but were made to work hard during the second half.
Lesley Phillips had a superb game for the hosts who were not at their best but deserved to take the points.
Jody Owen-Evans and Goodwin both bagged braces in Presteigne’s 6-2 success over Ludlow at Leominster in the KBS Sunday League.
Tomkins and in-form Pru Napolitano also hit the target for Presteigne who had opened up a 3-0 advantage before the break. Emily Moseley and Emma Davies netted Ludlow’s goals.
