PRESTEIGNE Ladies Hockey Club had plenty to celebrate at their annual dinner and awards night, as they ended the season as double league champions in some style.
The club won both the South Wales Division Four title and the Kington Building Supplies League with undefeated campaigns.
Winning the South Wales title also sees them promoted to Division 3 for the start of next season.
A good start to this year's campaign also saw the ladies finish second in the Leominster Summer League and also runners-up in the Kington tournament.
Not to be out done by their senior counterparts the youth team (Badgers), also won the South Powys Badger League for the third year running.
Although they could not quite match the seniors' undefeated season, they lost only once in what was a very good year for the Presteigne club.
The awards on the night went to Jess Goodwin, who picked up both the Players' Player trophy and the Joan Davies Cup.
Tina Sparey, who was chosen as club team member while Jody Owen- Evans was awarded most improved player of the season.
It was also a double celebration for Rita Tomkins who, as well as being voted Veteran Player of the year has also been selected to play for Wales in the veterans' tournament at the end of June.
