A FOUR-goal salvo from Emily Tompkins fired table-topping Hereford to a 5-2 win at Marlborough in the North Division of the West Clubs’ Women’s League.

Tompkins bagged two quick-fire goals to put Hereford into an early lead before the home side fought back strongly to level at the interval.

Hereford were more combative in the second half and inspired by midfielder Julia Messer who secured possession.

Tompkins restored Hereford’s advantage with a hat-trick strike after good work from Di Feely and she bagged another to put the city side 4-2 ahead.

Hereford rounded off the scoring when Tompkins found Becky Edwards who tapped the ball home.

A hat-trick from Jess Goodwin helped Presteigne to a 4-0 win at Bridgnorth in the Shropshire League.

Rita Tomkins also scored for Presteigne who led 2-0 at the interval and were boosted by strong defensive displays from Marie Sparey, Donna Jones and Kate Price.

Goodwin then bagged five goals in Presteigne’s 15-0 demolition of Builth & Llandrindod in the KBS Sunday League.

Rita Tomkins (2), Carrie Tomkins (2), Pru Napoliatano (2), Sioned Price (2), Deb Evans and Georgie Evans also found the net for Presteigne who led 9-0 at half time.
