Fifteen goals as in-form Leominster go on rampage


KAREN Hackley bagged six goals in Leominster’s 15-0 rout of visiting Colwall & Malvern in Severn Division 1 of the West Clubs’ Women’s League.

Kate Holder was also in top form and helped herself to four goals as Leominster ripped apart their neighbours.

Carolyne Gwynn (2), Liz Ranft and Michelle Ruff were also on target for free-scoring Leominster.

Hereford are up to second place in the North Division after a 5-3 home win over East Glos.

Lisa Ferneyhough (2), Emily Tompkins, Claire Pritchard and Di Feely scored for Hereford, while Pippa Cardy and Amy Wilkins were also in excellent form.

Hereford 2nd recorded a 1-0 win at Cheltenham Civil Service.

Hereford broke the deadlock midway through the second half after Tess Langford finished off excellent work from Jenny Miller and Mary McLeod.

Amy Jenkins produced an outstanding display in Kington’s 1-1 draw at Newport 2nd in Division 2 of the South Wales Women’s League.

Jenkins impressed in her defensive and midfield duties while goalkeeper Hannah Milde made a great save in the last five minutes.

Newport opened the scoring after five minutes but Kington responded swiftly with a goal from Karon Jones.

Sian Morgan, Bev Hyde, Jenny Layton, Jules Pudge and Ruth Alexander all worked hard in a solid Kington display.
