LEOMINSTER marked their return to Bridge Street Sports Centre by thrashing Aberystwyth University 6-0 in De Cymru & The Marches 1 of the GoCrea8 Hockey League.

Two goals from Shaun Hill and one from Jonty Goodey saw Leominster open up a 3-0 first lead lead before the same players added further goals after the break.

Nick Evans sealed the win.

Elsewhere, Ross-on-Wye beat Lydney 5-0, while Hereford lost 2-1 to Lansdown.

Despite being relegated from The Marches 1, Leominster Seconds ran out 4-2 winners against Lansdown Thirds.

Scott Bradley scored two of the goals with the others coming from Marcus Emery and Lewis Lavenia.

Luke Westlake, 14 was man-of-the-match.

"Whilst it’s been a hard season we have seen a number of youngsters come through into the team and they are growing in performance and confidence every week and we will be well placed to bounce back next season," said Bradley.

In the same division, Hereford Seconds saw off Lansdown Seconds 3-2.

Hereford remain second-from-bottom in Premier Division 2A of the West Clubs' Women's League after slipping to a 2-0 home defeat to Firebrands Seconds.

In North Division, Leominster lost 2-0 to Wootton Bassett, while Hereford Seconds gave their survival hopes the power of good by thrashing Colwall & Malvern 6-0 in Severn Division 1.

Meanwhile in Premier 2 of the South Wales Hockey League, goals from Jess Goodwin (4), Sioned Price, Charlie Morris (2), Ellie Williams Rita Tompkins, Erin Hardwick helped Presteigne thrash Cardiff University Thirds 10-1, while in Division One, Kington drew 1-1 with Radnor.
