A DRAMATIC goal from Jack Rowsell saw Leominster beat Hereford 4-3 in Conference North of the GoCrea8 Hockey League.

Rowsell was on hand to fire home after linking up with Robbie Goodman following a risky pass from Hereford's Will Steel.

The win sees Leominster placed in eighth place in the 12-team league on nine points from six games, while Hereford languishing second from bottom with only one win to their name. Leominster dominated the early exchanges and took a deserved lead after James Dunn found Josh Watkins, who turned smartly smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

The away side again dominated at the start of the second half, but Hereford drew level through Stew Goodarzi.

But Leominster regained the lead after Nick Duggan made no mistake with a flick following a foul on Goodman.

Leominster were awarded another flick, but with Duggan on the sidelines, Jack Davis took it, but fired wide of the upright.

Hereford capitalised on the miss, with Davis off the field after receiving a yellow card, scored again through Tom Salter.

But this fired Leominster up and they scored a third goal with a fine goal from Elijah Hazleman.

With time running out, Hereford kept battling and made it 3-3 thanks to Charlie Jones.

The home side had a string of short corners, but the Leominster defence and goalkeeper Matt Styles kept them at bay.

A series of penalty corners were then missed by Hereford, which proved costly as Leominster went on to win the game in the last minute.

Elsewhere, Ross-on-Wye have gone top of De Cymru & The Marches 2 following two wins over the weekend.
