HEREFORD enhanced their promotion prospects in Davis Wood League De Cymru and Marches 1 with a comprehensive 8-0 win over Whitchurch B in their final game before the holiday break.

With Hereford dominating play in the first period, Stew Goodarzi bagged a first-half hat-trick and Tom Clarke scored twice as the home side romped into a 5-0 lead.

Hereford's dominance continued in the second half, though fewer goals were scored as chances were missed.

Colin Amos scored the sixth, Goodarzi got his fourth then Andy Rogers completed the scoring.

The result leaves Hereford one point behind leaders Wotton-u-Edge.

After five straight defeats on the road, Leominster 2nd moved into mid-table in Marches 1 with their first away win of the season, a 4-0 success at Lansdown 3rd.

Hereford 2nd also picked up a point on the road with a 1-1 draw at Lydney 2nd.

Ross 2nd moved off the foot of the Marches 2 table with a 0-0 draw at Cirencester 4th.
