HEREFORD are up to third in the West Clubs' Women's League Premier 2A table after an impressive 4-2 win at Chippenham, their third away success in four matches.

And, in the North Division, Leominster are also doing well with a 0-0 home draw against Lansdown cementing their second-place position.

Stand-in keeper Chloe Brook earned the player-of-the-match award for her display.

After two impressive wins, Hereford 2nd have slipped back down the Severn 1 table after a pair of defeats.

They were unlucky to be beaten by Bourton & Sherborne after having plenty of the possession before succumbing to a 2-1 home reverse.

Dwyn Jones and Pip Pearson were in fine form as Hereford dominated first-half play only to go in at the interval a goal down.

The visitors added a second after the break and although Jones pulled a goal back with a fine strike from a penalty corner, Hereford were unable to salvage anything from the game.

Colwall & Malvern remain comfortably in mid-table in the same division after disposing of Badgers 4-0.

Debutant Ellie Blanin went close to putting the home side ahead before skipper Sammie Shail drove forward to shoot past the advancing goalkeeper.

Emma Hughes linked well with Katy Langley to score the second and she added another before the break.

Badgers tried hard to get back into the game but goalkeeper Jenny Shail pulled off some fine saves before Sammie Shail scored her second of the match from a penalty corner.

Colwall and Malvern 2nd were beaten 3-1 by Bourton & Sherborne 2nd in Severn 3 despite a debut goal by Henrietta Bullock.

Presteigne failed to end the first half of their South Wales Women's League Premier 2 season in the way they would have wanted when they were beaten 4-1 at Newport.

The border club got away to a fine start and took the lead with a goal from Charlie Morris.

But Newport responded quickly and went to the break 2-1 up.

Below-par Presteigne gave the ball away too often and had no answer as the home side scored twice more for a comfortable win.
