Twelve girls from Lucton School have progressed into the Herefordshire county hockey academy.
The girls, Ellie Painter-Black, Megan Griffiths, Liberty Perry, Rebecca McLauchlan, Paige Bicker-Caarten, Georgia Lewis, Charlie O’Neill, Mary Bicker-Caarten, Ellie Evans, Sophie Woodfield, Poppy Perry and Cate Simmonds are aged between 11 and 17 and will join with the Herefordshire squad which plays as part of the West of England region.
“We’re tremendously proud of them all and this is just reward for the effort the girls have put in over the last year," said Wendy Griffiths, the head of girls' sport at Lucton School.
"I’m hoping that they could advance further as the West of England trials are in the near future and we wish all girls every success in the forthcoming tournaments.”
