MISSED chances in the early stages ultimately proved costly as Hereford were beaten 3-2 at Cardiff Medics in Davis Wood League De Cymru and Marches 1.

The city side had the better of the opening 20 minutes and created some good openings without being able to take any.

The visitors did, however, take the lead early in the second period with a sublime lob from Matt Walker.

But the Medics levelled within a minute and scored twice more after some slick passing moves.

Hereford continued to create openings but it was not until the last hit of the game that Mike Broady scored their second.

In De Cymru and Marches League 2, Ross missed out by the odd goal in 11 against visiting leaders Cirencester.

After quickly falling two goals behind following heavy pressure, Ross hit back to equalise when Sam Warner got on the end of two good passing moves.

Cirencester regained the lead but the margin was kept to a single goal at the interval thanks to a fine penalty-flick save by Ross keeper Raasch.

After the break, Adrian Williams again levelled the scores only for Cirencester to two score twice more.

Ross, however, showed tremendous character to equalise again through Jonny Cross and Tom Walton but just when it seemed as if honours would end even, Cirencester netted again.

Even then, Ross had the ball in the net once more, only for the referee to rule that it had come off a Ross foot.

Hereford 2nd picked up just their second point in eight games when they drew 1-1 with visiting Cirencester 3rd in Marches 1.

But, at the other end of that division, Leominster 2nd remain in third place after a commendable 1-1 draw at second-placed Cheltenham 4th.

In Marches 2, Ross 2nd also picked up their second point of the season when they forced a 2-2 draw at Cirencester 4th.
