A dramatic penalty flick stop from Leominster goalkeeper, Matt Styles, earned the points for Leominster in a game which, in large, they dominated.

With the score at 3-2 and just over 10 minutes left to play, Styles leapt high to his left to keep out the flick, to the relief and joy of his team-mates. The game had started badly for Leominster, going 1-0 down inside the opening 10 minutes, following a mistake in the Leominster midfield, Newent broke with pace and fired home past a helpless Styles.

For the remainder of the half the game was pretty even with Leominster pressing and Newent trying to catch the home side out on the break, but neither side were fruitful in their efforts as it was still 1-0 as the half time whistle went.

Whatever was said at half time in both camps it worked as the score-line was 2-2 within just seven minutes of the restart. Goals from Rob Goodman and Ed Healey sandwiched another Newent strike. From then on it was all Leominster and the winning goal came from yet another short corner midway through the half. The ball was played in by Dave Harvey, before Jack Castle superbly teed up the on-rushing Harry Ellis who blasted the ball through a crowd of defenders and into the net.

With time running out Leominster seemed to have the game under control, when they gave away the penalty flick, however Styles stepped up, spread himself big and saved superbly, the final score 3-2 to Leominster.
