A HAT-trick from Stew Goodarzi led Hereford to a 6-1 win over Cardiff & Met ‘C’ in the David Wood League De Cymru and The Marches One division.

Hereford defender Will Steel deflected a cross into his own net to give the visitors the lead after 10 minutes.

But this proved only a temporary setback as Goodarzi scored twice and Hamish Cameron once before the break.

Goodarzi completed his treble in the second period when a fine individual goal from Mike Broady and a well-worked team goal from Tom Clarke rounded off the win.

Missed chances cost below-strength Leominster dear as they went down 2-1 at Bath Buccaneers ‘B’.

The north Herefordshire side failed with two great chances in the opening 10 minutes only to fall behind when a mistake by Jim Dunn was punished.

The home side scored again before the interval but it was not until the second-half that Leominster got on the scoresheet when man-of-the-match Josh Watkins won a penalty flick which was dispatched by Harry Ellis.

Leominster created further chances but were unable to find the net again.

Ross bounced back from the previous week’s reverse with a 3-2 win at Swansea University 2nd in De Cymru and Marches 2.

Goals from Adrian Williams and skipper Tom Walton put Ross in control only for the home side to hit back to level the scores before the interval.

Ross regained their purpose at the start of the second-half and some solid defending helped them to hold on to the win given to them by Patrick Wilson’s strike.

There were mixed fortunes for the clubs’ respective second teams.

Leominster 2nd are up to third in Marches One after a 4-1 defeat of Cirencester 2nd.

Elijah Hazleman, Nicko Evans, Ben Smith and Andy Wilson were on target for Leominster.

But Hereford 2nd, who face Leominster at Hereford Leisure Centre on Saturday, suffered their fourth defeat in five outings when they were beaten 2-1 at table-topping Cheltenham 3rd.

In Marches Two, Ross 2nd collected their first point of the season from a 3-3 home draw with Winchcombe.

l HEREFORD 2nd continue to storm away at the top of Severn Two in the West Clubs’ Women’s League after their their fourth straight victory.

The city side travelled to Shipton Oliffe and returned with a 3-1 success.

Captain Tess Langford scored twice with Jess Sayce bagging the other with the win built on a fine defensive display from Meg Watkins.

Ross are finding the going difficult in Severn Two and suffered their fourth defeat in five games when they were beaten 5-3 at Cirencester.

But, at one point, Ross hopes were high when they led 3-1, only for the second-placed side to come through strongly towards the end.

In the North Division, 10-strong Leominster slipped to third after their first defeat of the season, a 6-3 reverse at BAC. The Leominster goals came from Karen Hackley, Liz Ranft and skipper Kate Holder.

l Kington only had Steph Main’s goal to show for their efforts in a 4-1 defeat at Barry in Premier Two of the South Wales Women’s League.
