Leominster lost their place at the head of the Davis Wood North Conference after being held to a 2-2 draw at county rivals Hereford.

The north Herefordshire club took the lead from a penalty corner with Josh Watkins applying a good finish.

Hereford stepped up the pressure and Tom Clarke levelled the scores when the Leominster defence failed to deal with a dangerous cross.

Just before the break, Hereford took the lead in similar fashion with Chris Hill this time the man to find the net. In an even second period, Leominster levelled the scores when Jim Dunn squared the ball for Watkins to add his second of the match.

As tempers rose towards the end, Leominster’s Harry Ellis spent a double spell in the sin-bin but Hereford were unable to profit from their numerical advantage and the scores ended level.

Ross are level on points at the top of De Cymru and Marches Two after a 4-2 success at Swansea City 2nd while Hereford 2nd, despite dropping points for the first time this season in a 2-2 home draw with Lansdown 2nd, continue to lead the way in Marches One.

Leominster 2nd were beaten 1-0 at home by Lydney second in the same division.

Hereford 3rd travelled to Gloucester 4th in Marches Two and returned with a 2-0 success.

Both goals came in the first two minutes with Alex Miller twice on target.

He netted from an Alex Dereham cross and then deflected a Dan Volpe shot into the goal.

After that, despite plenty of openings, Hereford were unable to add to their score.

Ross 2nd were held to a 1-1 home draw by third-placed Winchcombe.
